We normally race every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. Practice is held before the races starting at around 8am and racing normally begins at 10am. We will have sign ups and place you in your preferred class before racing begins.
Racing will include 2 qualifiers and 1 main (5 minutes each for a total of 3 races) with lots of open practice time in between. We average around 80 entries so the race day will last about 6-8 hours. If you have more than 1 car then you are free to enter more classes like many other drivers do. Makes for a busy day but you double your fun :)
Before your race the announcer will call out and let racers know their race is coming up. When your race is up you may turn on your car and set it in a safe spot on track. You then find any open spot up on the driver stand and you can begin warming up your tires by driving around the track until the announcer asks everyone to line up for the start. During the race the computer keeps track of your position and you can see your race data via smartphone after the race. After your 5 minute race ends please turn off your car, set it in your pits and come back to the track to 'turn marshal' the next race. When you 'turn marshal' you stand next to an orange cone that is inside the track and you will help flip cars that have crashed and are stuck, just as turn marshals have done for your race. Be careful not to step in front of oncoming cars. Only turn marshal a car when safe to do so. The announcer will warn other drivers to be careful for turn marshals. Once that race is over you may return to your pits to prepare your car for the next race.
If you need any help with your car or help with your day, please ask a fellow racer or ask a track manager and they will happily assist you in any way.
Please remember these track and race etiquette rules;
-No open toed shoes or sandals allowed.
-No yelling or hand or foot stomping on the driver stand.
-Allow faster cars to pass by going wide in a turn so that they may pass on the inside. This will result in less accidents.
-You must turn marshal after your race just as others have done for your race.
-Clean up all trash around your pits
-No smoking or alcohol in the pits or in the track areas.
-You must smile and have fun because we are toy car racing! :D
